Northbridge students, Scouts join friend at Buddy Walk
The Massachusetts Down Syndrome Society sponsored the walk at Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield as part of National Down Syndrome Awareness Month. The Buddy Walk is a celebration and promotion for acceptance and inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome. This year more than 250 Buddy Walks were held throughout the U.S. (a few were even held abroad), with $398,181 raised to date.
Northbridge High School freshman Natalie Lyons, a member of Cadette Troop 30129, participated in the 16th annual Buddy Walk & Family Picnic for Down syndrome on Oct. 7 with fellow students and Scouts. Natalie has Down syndrome.
