Down Syndrome and Autism
Charlotte Gray and Erin Knyff were inspired by their sons to form
the Down Syndrome-Autism Connection.
Formed by moms Charlotte Gray and Erin Knyff, the Down Syndrome-Autism Connection is a community of parents whose children have both Down syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Today, DSAC has 30 active families who meet once monthly by online chat to discuss the issues and challenges unique to the Down Syndrome-Autism community. Experts in the field often present on various topics relating to dual diagnosis. New members are welcome.
As of 2011, DSAC is an affiliate of the MDSC, falling under our 501(c)3 non-profit status. "By joining forces together, the MDSC and DSAC will ensure that all families who have children with the dual diagnosis of Down syndrome and autism feel welcome and have access to the resources and supports they need." said Maureen Gallagher, Executive Director of the MDSC.
